On this page I will outline the Product options available for Shopify and Lemonstand.

Shopify

Here is the page on Shopify where you add new products:

Shopify Product Backend

As you can see, on Shopify you can edit the following product options. Click the links below for further information about each product option.

Lemonstand

Here is the page on Lemonstand where you add new products:

Lemonstand Product Backend

As you can see, there are a lot more options on Lemonstand than Shopify, so they divide the options up into hide/reveal sections.

Normally if you click to reveal one section, it hides the one you came from. However, to make it easier to show you the extended options, I Photoshopped together this display:

As you can see, on Lemonstand you can edit the following product options. Click the links below for further information about each product option.

The Winner

A big win for Lemonstand here. Product customization is one of the biggest pros Lemonstand has going on. They pride themselves on being an extremely customizable platform, which is especially visible here on the product options page.

Some Lemonstand features can be replicated by Shopify using Apps, but the downside of that is working with multiple software vendors to accomplish the same thing that could be done with one software. For example, if you run into a problem using an App on Shopify, you may need to seek support from the App Developer instead of Shopify.

The plus side of Shopify’s limited product options is that it’s a more streamlined process for adding new products. If you don’t need the additional customization options, then it’s no big deal.
